2. Planning and Preparation

Planning
a. Knowledge gaining: write a paragraph explaining how students will gain knowledge.
---Students will learn about what a community is through their own personal exploration of the web and other technological resources. First, they will view an introductory video that discusses the importance of being an active member of your community. Next, they will begin planning how to go about their personal exploration of community. Last, students will put all their newly gained knowledge together to share with others.

b. Knowledge organizing: write a paragraph explaining how students will organize the knowledge they gained.
----The students will designate specific tasks to group members. These tasks will be clearly depicted on the group blog - where each group is required to post their job breakdown. After this, they will begin their task for their group. Finally, they will come back together as a group to create their Wikispace.

c. Knowledge sharing: write a paragraph explaining how students will share the knowledge they learned.
----The students are invited to share their work as often as they please. Through the use of the class blog as well as the discussion board, they are welcome and encouraged to share resources, ideas, etc with others. Students final piece will be making their new community its own Wikispace. This will include things such as a map of their community, what it looks like, who lives there, who are the leaders, etc.
